A TASTE OF GENUINE EMOTIONS
Trailers FilmFest in the World takes this long-standing pairing of screen and cuisine and offers many possible interpretations, reflected in the selection of trailers. Our own special guide illustrates the changes in Italians’ culinary requirements and tastes over time. Through the filmmakers’ eyes we see the hunger and want of the war years, to the ‘land of plenty’ mentality of the post-war boom; the repudiation of food in the politicised ’70s and ’80s to the recent rediscovery of gastronomic traditions and new ways of respecting both nature and customs, also at mealtimes.
